The 3.6 has a 6 bolt main, excellent heads and stout internals. As a matter of fact Fiat is currently working with Maserati in developing a twin turbo version of this engine for the Quattroporte and possibly the Franturismo Sport if they can get enough reliable power out of it.
The SXT and GT trims are fitted with the Challenger’s base 3.6-liter V6 engine which makes 305 horsepower @ 6,350 rpm and 268 lb-ft of torque @ 4,800 rpm. That engine offers plenty of power, but with a 0-to-60 time of 6.3 seconds, it’s not winning any speed contests. This is the engine you want if you’re most likely to use your Challenger
